Is it too risky these days to hire celebs to pitch your products? High fashion clothier Christian Dior is the most recent company to learn that lesson the hard-way. It has dropped Sharon Stone as the spokesperson for its skin care line in China after the actress publicly blamed the devastating earthquake there on the “bad karma” that comes from the country’s dismal human rights record in Tibet. The funny thing is many folks probably agree with her train of thought.

Chinese authorities say they will ban all her films from being shown in the country and billboards featuring her were reportedly torn down by angry citizens. Interestingly, Shron Stone just announced she’s buying a home on the Chinese Riviera with her boyfriend to serve as their “base for world travels.”

Madonna’s career may span more than two and a half decades, but during an exclusive performance on Wednesday to celebrate the release of her 11th studio album the ‘hot’ superstar told fans it still feels “like the first time.” The well toned 49-year-old performed six songs for around 2,000 people at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom, including four from “Hard Candy,” her final album for long-term label Warner Bros. released internationally this week. Justin Timberlake joined her on stage at the Roseland to perform the single “Four Minutes,” which went to No. 1 in the British singles charts and peaked at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 listing.

The mother-of-three, who wowed the crowd with her dance moves, also performed “Candy Shop,” “Give It 2 Me” and “Miles Away” from her latest album, along with “Music” and an acoustic version of “Hung Up.” Madonna, one of the world’s biggest-selling artists, ditched Warner Bros. last year and signed a 10-year deal, including a three-album commitment, with concert touring company Live Nation believed to be worth $120 million. She still brings back great memories of my teens, listening to classics like Holiday on the beach.

-Brad Pitt is up for playing British explorer Percy Fawcett, who disappeared in the Amazon jungle in 1925 during an expedition to find a lost city. Pitt, age 44, has expressed an interest in producing and starring in “Lost City of Z” which tells the story of Fawcett’s ill-fated mission 83 years ago.

-Actress and ‘bad gir’ Lindsay Lohan is set to portray one of the cult followers loyal to convicted murderer Charles Manson, in a new movie called “Manson Girls,” US media reported on Thursday. Lohan, age 21, would star as Nancy Pitman in the movie, produced by Brad Wyman of Junction Films.

Barack Obama says his two daughters are big fans of Hannah Montana and Beyonce, but think anything to do with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton is “yuck.”

The Democratic presidential contender told celebrity magazine Us Weekly that his daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, got to meet Beyonce backstage at a concert and “they just love her to death.” “They’re pretty down on Britney and Paris and all of that. They think that’s very ‘yuck,”‘ he said. As for his wife, Michelle, Obama said she has a star crush on Stevie Wonder.

“I’ve been teasing her because Stevie fell off the stage at one of our events,” Obama said. “I said to her, ‘This is your favourite performer, and you push him off the stage?’ Fortunately, he was OK.” The Illinois senator described himself as a “pretty cool” dad who tries not to embarrass his daughters even when he’s dancing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” as he did in October. Though campaigning keeps him away from his family, Obama hasn’t skipped a parent-teacher conference.

“He did miss one of Sasha’s dance recitals in December and was broken up about it,” Michelle Obama told the magazine. “No one wants to miss 20 6-year-olds in red cowboy hats tapping to ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin’. Obama’s interview with the magazine can be found on newsstands Friday.
