Celine Leaving Vegas

December 14, 2007

Celine’s famous Vegas show is winding down. The sun is going down on Celine’s record-breaking “A New Day” concert in Las Vegas. This famous French Canadian has belted out the hits (along with a few chest poundings) for five years to sold-out audiences.

Celine took some time out from her show to talk to Access about her groundbreaking spectacle coming to a close. As it turns out, she thinks “A New Day” is coming to an end at just the right moment. She has worked with some of her current musicians for the Vegas show for almost 15 years. She plans to bring them on her up-coming world tour.

Celine reflected on just how much has happened in the five-year span of her Vegas show, saying, “Between all those songs and shows there was a life. We have lost people along this journey and we’ve given birth to some children as well.” Whereas some performers would turn their nose at the thought of a five-year run in one venue, Celine welcomed the stability of staying put in the Nevada desert oasis.

Celine’s last Vegas show will be December 15, 2007.  But don’t worry, Celine can live on forever on your home DVD player. To commemorate the historic event, Celine will release an astounding five-hour double-DVD, ” Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas.”

And if that wasn’t enough Celine for you, she will launch a year-long, five-continent, “Taking Chances World Tour” on February 14, 2008 in South Africa. The tour is scheduled to end on January 30, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale.
